Applications such as smart patches, printed microelectrode arrays and biosensors, biocompatible electrode structures
Fraunhofer ZSI positions itself as a leading partner for the development of printed functional elements in medical technology and cell-based biotechnology.
The main areas of application for the pilot line include in particular:
- Development of smart patches with integrated patient monitoring
- Printed microelectrode arrays and biosensors, including suitable microfluidics where necessary, for cell culture and in vitro diagnostics
- Biocompatible and mechanically flexible electrode structures and electronic systems for medical wearables and active implants
- Evaluation/validation of technical developments in industry-relevant cell cultivation systems and environments (2D and 3D cell systems).
